Showcase: Dreadfleet - The Sea Drake

The High Elven Sea Drake is another visual highlight to me.

Bright, elegant, different to human ships and with a very Fantasy twist in the shape of a dragon. In true High Elven form, there are no cannons on the ship but instead it's all Bolt Throwers and if I remember correctly, that shows in the firepower ingame. But hey, they're maneuverable as heck and launch dragons against their enemies to make up for that.

  1. You really bring these Dreadfleet ships to life! They fit nicely with the sort of established schemes of the different armies, but have their own individual flair, rivaling the Studios. It is nice to see someone still working at the ships!

  2. Thanks for the comment, Godwyn. :) They're a fun project and I think that especially Dreadfleet works well as a secondary project. Let's say you paint an army of say ...10,000 Skaven ( ;) ). Any time you get bored with ratmen you can turn to Dreadfleet and do one ship or something.

From the feedback I get from these sets of DF I paint it almost seems like 75% of Dreadfleet sets still sit unpainted in thei boxes. With no other project I heard "I really have to start painting mine too" so often. Not excluding myself here too, my own set's also still on sprue. :D
