Stahly: In this monthly section we want to recap the progress of our "Tale of Mega Painters" project, a motivational project by Garfy and me. Basically we want to push ourselves to paint up a Dark Eldar and Necron Megaforce respectively. In my case to start a new army, in Garfy's case to expand his small collection of Necrons. More about "Tale of Mega Painters" can be found in our kick-off post here. Click "more after the jump" to review all the models we painted this month and to check out the submissions of our readers.

Stahly: This month I completed the Venom. It was a fun little vehicle to paint. I like models that paint up quickly because they give you a nice sense of accomplishment. So far, the model is yet to be varnished and once done, I will take better pictures of it for the blog. The second half of the month has seen me taking a break from Tale of Mega Painters - I'm currently working on a bike squad for my Ultramarines. After painting the sergeant, I'm going back to my Dark Eldar and will paint the remaining two bikers later. The next unit I'm going about are Wyches. For July I want to build a unit of 10 and to paint at least three of them.

Now, over to Garfy.

Garfy: June was full of distractions. The first week I was on holiday. Then I was distracted by painting some Wargs for my Hobbit collection. I eventually started painting the Spyder during the the second week of June. I decided to paint everything by hand and not use my airbrush which increased the amount of time it took. I've now been distracted again by the 2nd edition boxed game I bought and a Forgefiend. Stahly is on a break from the project at the moment, so I'm going to use that time to add a Tesseract Vault to my Necrons before I return to my Mega force.

Reader Submissions: June saw updates from Rory's Tau and Andy's Astral Claws. We also introduced another two painters to the group; Siph and Manus. Siph showed us his Relictors and Manus shared his Adeptus Mechanicus models. We hope to bring you more from these great painters during July.

Are you painting a battleforce/megaforce and want to join in?

Now you can! Stahly and I would like to open this project up to everyone. If you're a member of the Tale of Painters blog list and you're blogging about a Games Workshop army we would love to feature  your models on the Tale of Painters blog. Send me an email at garfy.taleofpainters@gmail.com with a link to your blog and make sure you include a couple of pictures and a paragraph or two about your army project. We look forward to hearing from you.
