Fire Prism, 95% complete
So my Fire Prism is almost done. The only thing left to do is adding another decal, fixing the occasional mistake and of course varnishing. I'm really happy I'm finally done with it, I'm working on it for two weeks and I got sick of painting it.
Looks good as always. The crystals, stones and gems look great!
ReplyDeleteThat is an excellent paint job.
ReplyDeleteAlso, congrats on the GW posting!
Looks fantastic dude.

All hail the Saim-Hann guru! ;-) Great job, as always!
ReplyDeleteI love your work, and hope that i will paint as good as you some day. I found your page from GW, and I started following your blog yesterday. I don't know where to write questions, so i decided to write here ;) How would you paint space wolves? Also i don't know which kind of colors i shall use. Im a bit lost. (I live in Sweden if you wish to know ;) )
ReplyDeleteThanks!
ReplyDeleteMartin, I'd use this tutorial as a reference http://www.games-workshop.com/gws/content/article.jsp?catId=&pageMode=multi&categoryId=cat440177a§ion=&pIndex=4&aId=2400010a&start=5 However for the armour, I'd use a basecoat of Vallejo Game Colour Steel Blue (which is a mid tone between Shadow and Space Wolves Grey). For shading, I'd use VGC Black Ink. If it is too dark, mix a little bit of Fenris Grey and water. Then apply an edge highlight of Space Wolves Grey (VGC Wolf Grey) and finally VGC Ghost Grey. Make sure you use muted reds and yellows for the shoulder pads, otherwise the final mini will become too garish.
I love your painting style Stahly! Subscribed!
