Lecoqadoodledo back again, but with some Blood Bowl this time. I’ve had my Ogre sitting around since it came out earlier in the year, and I finally decided to just get it painted last week. Brikk joins my Ostermark Comets, and has performed decently in the two games I’ve used him in the past couple days. Painted models really do roll better.
I didn’t want to take too long painting him, and thankfully my scheme for the Comets isn’t complicated. However I did spend a lot more effort on the face, as it’s a large focal point and lends so much character to the sculpt. I started with Cadian Fleshtone as the basecoat, followed by a wash of Reikland Fleshshade, which when dry, was repeated in the deeper recesses of the face and neck. After this I layered Cadian Fleshtone back over the raised areas, and then began the highlights with a couple thinned coats of Kislev Flesh on the really defined sections.
Before adding the final highlight, I glazed both the nose and bottom lip with a 1:1 mix of Carroburg Crimson and Lahmian Medium. The eyelids were done in the same way, but with Kantor Blue and Medium. Thinned down Flayed One Flesh was then used to strengthen some of the Kislev Flesh highlights, and then repeated to define specifically the skin around the nose and eyes.
I’m looking forward to one day having a fully painted team, complimented by a several Star Players. The majority of sculpts for Blood Bowl are some of the best I’ve seen, and have so far been incredibly fun to paint.
Hope you guys like Brikk, and that your own hobby is going well!
